Imagine My Surprise

I was all set to criticize this article which talks about the five areas in which women grade men on a date, but found that I agree with all but one (the shoes). Hygiene, not acting like an asshole, and caring enough to put a little thought into the evening rank very high on my list of requirements for a good date.

What do you think about the shoes, though? I'm sure I notice when I like a guy's shoes, but unless they were crazy flamboyantly ugly, I don't think I'd notice too strongly if I didn't like them. (And in all candor here, what I notice the most is when a guy is wearing sandals or flip flops and has nice, tanned feet with long, straight toes - I'm no foot fetishist, but I do think a man with nice feet is that much more attractive.) Would bad shoes be a deal-breaker for you?

It would be a deal breaker only if he wore flip flops/Doc Martens with socks OR Crocs!! YUCK YUCK and double YUCK!

Shoes are no deal breaker and it seems petty to me. I agree with the 97% that say plan something for the evening...it shows commitment and interest in the date. Also I think the keeping the temper in check is a great point also.
