Are the new TV shows making men into mice? Did you once lust over McDreamy now to wonder where his balls have gone? First I want to admit that I am a little behind on Grey's Anatomy having lost a couple of episodes in a move however I do religiously watch Private Practice and Big Shots. I thought this article was a very interesting take on the basic demoralization of men on TV. As a female that loved the bad boy in Derek Shepherd and the chase, I do miss a bit of that mystery. I believe most shows are showing men as they are becoming in life. A bit whiney and further and further from a man's man everyday. There is nothing sexier then a confident, strong man's man with maybe a sensitive touch!
If you are looking for some stronger men characters then tune in to Private Practice it is the Grey's spin off and the women are strong-willed and independent but so are the men. I think at least in this first season Private Practice has hit a great balance of independence and wanting. As for Big Shots it may be that some folks don't want to feel bad for rich, good looking guys talking about their feelings but as much as I hate a whiner this show is just funny and fun to watch. It makes me think hey look these guys "have everything" and they are unhappy. Remember money doesn't buy happiness right? Think of it as a small escape.
