Land of Women review

First I have to say I was looking forward to this movie because I love this relatively new actor Adam Brody from The OC. I expected a comedic click flick when I got this film but it is definitely more of a drama. A story of friendship, hope and life and a reminder to stop and look around once in awhile to see who and what is around. Meg Ryan stars as a struggling house wife who discovers she has breast cancer while her daughter, played by Kristen Stewart, is dealing with typical teenage angst. Adam’s character Carter helps to open their eyes to their situation. Olympia Dukakis plays the aging grandmother wonderfully. I love the line by main character Carter who says about life “It’s messy, and it’s chaotic, and it’s never ever the thing you’d expect.” I would give this film a four star rating and I am looking forward to seeing Adam in his future films.
